Testimonial: A huge thank you...

Good Morning Sandra, I just want to say a huge thank you to both you and Russell for the fantastic weekend. I have learnt so much and am so determined to get my horse doing some amazing things one day. I have an old fashioned horse trainer at home who does not believe in Parelli (although he has not tried it himself) and he made me feel quite disheartened about going to the course on the weekend as my mare does tend to refuse to do things when she doesn’t want to and my trainer felt I was “wasting my time and money as she won’t do Parelli”. I looked at it as I have spent thousands of dollars trying different things with her, different saddles, bridles, bits, techniques and trainers and she was really no different to where I started off three years ago. I was still frightened of her at times and didn’t enjoy my riding so what had I to lose by going to a course? In my opinion it is the best money I have spent in a long time, now I have to practice and not forget what I have learnt as I now know my mare can do things when she is asked especially as I was the one doing the 7 games with her I know she can do them for me. I know its going to be a lot of hard work and perseverance but I am going to give it my best shot. Seeing that video was remarkable; hard to believe that someone could have such great communication with a horse and get it to do all those things with no aids needed, just the correct training and communication. I would like to register for the Advancing Level 1 course in October and have attached my registration form. Although I have not started practicing as yet I want to book my spot now before the course is full. This morning I went into the paddock to let my rabbit out of his run and my horse came over to say hello. I had no carrot stick, halter or leadrope with me but I thought I would try the porcupine game with the pressure on the nose to get her to step back out of my bubble, it worked straight away at just phase 2. Even after she had moved back she stayed back and didn’t creep forward which is what she normally does. I know a one off doesn’t make it perfect but I will do a bit with her each day and I have Friday off work this week so really look forward to playing with her for longer. I will keep you posted on how my ‘Golden Week’ goes. Can't wait to get started and wish I was out there now playing with her. Thanks again Tineke J
